Juan Francisco Casas: Ballpoint Master
You might be tricked into thinking that these are photographs with a blue filter. They are in fact drawings done in ballpoint pen by Spaniard, Juan Francisco Casas.
This guy's level of skill is impressive to say the least, that in my opinion match those of the Dutch masters, only with a more modern twist.
That said he is equally skilled with the oil paints as with the humble blue biro.
Check out more of his work HERE.

Camouflage & Hip Hop
After the recent "Camo Chaos" post I thought it only right to give some prime examples of how camo gear has long been a staple of discerning hip hoppers over the past two decades.
Far from being a comprehensive collection I think it illustrates the point. Most of the vids being from the 90's (that's my shit, Gawd), however, there are a few recent ones towards the bottom for good measure. The final video by Alexander Spit is essentially a shameless advert for the Hundreds with a bit of rap in it but then that highlights the current trend I was alluding to in the previous post.
If you can think of any good ones I missed, feel free to drop in the comments box.

Nike - Blazer New Releases
Above is a modern take on the shoe, utilizing Vac Tech (or VT for short), giving it a seamless look which I think works quite well.
Below is latest "vintage" release that is exclusive to Size? and limited to 500 pairs in each colour. These are built from premium tumbled leather, unfortunately the out-sole has also been given the yellowy "antiqued" treatment, which I'm really not a fan of... however, sources suggest that some careful use of white-spirit can remove it, for a box-fresh look.
More info can be found about the Nike Blazer VT HERE and the Nike Blazer Vintage HERE.

The Roots - Undun Videos
"undun is an existential re-telling of the short life of one Redford Stephens (1974-1999). Through the use of emotives and Redford’s internal dialogues the album seeks to illustrate the intersection of free will and prescribed destiny as it plays out ‘on the corner’. Utilizing a reverse narrative arc, the album begins as the listener finds Redford disoriented–postmortem–and attempting to make sense of his former life. As he moves through its pivotal moments he begins to deconstruct all that has led to his (and our own) coming undun."
I tired to put the videos in chronological order (as opposed to the "reverse narrative arc"). See if you can piece together the story so far.
In my opinion this mini series of videos are some of the most well shot and put together I have seen in a very long time.

Ever wanted to eat gold?
No?
Ever fancied eating spray-paint?
No?
Ever felt the urge to paint your food?
Me neither.
But now you can!
"Want to impress your guests at a dinner party? Food Finish is great for that. Developed together with The Deli Garage
and a small food factory, which supplies high-quality fine pastry shops
with food coloring. Easy to use with the spray can and the result is
beautiful. Why not create a chrome trout or gold-plated asparagus tips.
It is completely harmless and tasteless to eat, Food Finish brings new
luster in the creative cuisine."
Mmmm, tastes like bowel-cancer.

Al the Chemist will be rocking the wheels of steel this Thursday in Brussels, with none other than Big Twins (I always thought it was Big Twin? aka Twin Gambino) will be on the mic.

Camo Chaos
Camouflage gear has always been a staple in Hip Hop attire yet every few years camo sneaks it's way back into mainstream fashion.
Rappers/Gangstas have been rocking camo from NY to New Orleans for as long as I can remember, be it Mobb Deep, CNN, DMX, or the No Limit Soldiers and everyone in between. It's long been an established way of displaying ones "G'ness". Ready for war.
There are a few streetwear brands that have always stuck to their guns (no pun intended) when it comes to camo offerings, such as: Bape, Maharishi and Addict. However, now designer brands have taken to printing their garments in an array of hues suited to jungle concealment.
Just what you need when you're waiting for the metro.
Complex magazine recently ran a compelling guide to the old DPM (disruptive pattern material) which I think was probably taken from Maharishi's book on the matter.
