Detroit - Murder City

Following on with the gritty documentaries here's one about the USA's murder capital - D' Troit. Not the most professional docu out there (think hoodumentary rather than BBC standards) so listening to "Liploc Moe" chat about the hood while smoking a blunt, grasping an unopened bottle of vodka doesn't exactly make for the most convincing testament. However, the vintage stock footage from news reports of the 70's and 80's is definitely riveting and presumably as close to the truth as one will get. Add to that the sporadic flashes of random statistics related to murder and violent crime rates though out the decades makes for an enlightening watch... and everyone loves some crime scene footage and mugshots.

One thing is for sure, it's put me off ever going to Detroit. Not that is was ever top of the list of holiday destinations.
