RIP GURU

Gang Starr - Royalty

"Creme de la creme"

Can't help but spit all the lyrics to this one.

Group Home ft. Lord Jamar & MC Ace

Here's the latest offering for the gruesome twosome - Group Home. Off the touchingly entitled Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal - which as we all know is in remembrance of the fallen legend GURU.

Fuck Solar

Doo Wop & TONY - We Got Guns [Solar Diss]

It was only a matter of time before this kind of thing came out. Solar has upset a lot of people with his shady affairs in the whole Guru story.
Doo Wop and TONY go hard on him on this one...

"As Guru’s once former publicist [Dennis Paredes], I send this email with pleasure and a deeper sentiment that can only be explained by the grinding of my teeth every time I think of the entire situation. Doo Wop is accompanied by T.O.N.Y. from Minneapolis on this very personal song, allowing Doo Wop to express another side of him that is rarely shown. I attest to the first few bars Doo Wop rhymes (shown after the jump)."

Primo Tribu... errm "Salute" to GURU

Keith "Guru" Elam Tribute Mix by Dj Premier Blog Radio on Mixcloud

Some real talk on this one. Premier went hard on this on, you can hear he chose particular tracks [even verses] to articulate his feelings towards Solar - "the super producer, that's never made a good beat" - in the words of Statik Selektah.

Again, RIP Guru...

Another One For The G.U.R.U

RIP Guru

Rest in peace to a true Hip Hip legend. DJ Premier reported his passing via his Twitter.

Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal

This one goes out to Guru, as many of you know by now is in a coma since he had a heart attack last week.
This track is still one of my all time favorites - I can pretty much recite all the lyrics to this one. In my humble opinion, Gangstarr's - The Moment Of Truth is one of the dopest Hip Hop albums ever released and remains a benchmark in what constitutes real Hip Hop. Sick beats from the one and only DJ Premier, and of course deep and impeccably delivered rhymes from Guru.

Get well soon...
